As Indians reportedly own more property in London than Brits themselves, a woman’s a witty “colonialism” take on it has received criticism online.

Indians now dominate the property market in London, owning more properties in the UK’s capital than Brits. This group includes individuals who have lived in the UK for generations, NRIs, investors, students, and families living there for educational purposes. Following closely behind in property ownership are the English and Pakistani people.
Reports indicate that Indians are investing between Rs 30 million and Rs 47 million in one, two, or three-bedroom apartments in London. Notably, around 30 per cent of these purchases are for investment purposes, with properties rented out to London residents. An Indian woman linked this to colonialism and it has drawn backlash from Brits.
“Indians now own more property in London than native White Britons,” wrote Pubity while sharing a picture of the India flag and another from London.
A woman quoted this post and expressed, “Who’s colonised now? B****!” Her comment was in the light of British colonial rule in India, which lasted roughly 89 years, suggesting a symbolic reversal of roles in the present day.
An individual from the UK responded to her post and wrote, “It is remarkable how little it takes to reveal their true intentions. Ultimately, it comes down to ‘revenge’.”
“I don’t think colonisation works by buying property and paying taxes to the country you’re trying to colonise,” joined yet another.
A third commented, “Sorry to burst anyones bubble but in the UK when it comes to land a property, no one apart from the crown owns anything. This is why here you have land-registry, when buying you register land under your name but it is owned by the crown.”
“So it is revenge based immigration then, thanks for clearing that up,” shared a fourth.
A fifth said, “You are so blinded by your own stupidity. It hurts.”
