A video showing a man physically assaulting a woman passenger inside a local train in Mumbai has gone viral, sparking outrage on social media. The incident reportedly followed a heated argument between the two passengers.

The situation escalates when the man stands up from his seat, accuses the woman of abusing his mother, and then begins hitting her repeatedly. Another passenger quickly intervenes, managing to stop the man from further assaulting the woman.
The footage, which captures the chaos and alarm inside the coach, was widely shared on social media platform X.
According to an NDTV report, a police case has been filed and efforts are underway to trace the accused. The incident took place on a train running between Kanjurmarg and Kalyan stations in Mumbai on May 16.
The report further stated that the altercation began when the man boarded a coach reserved for specially-abled passengers. The woman reportedly objected to this, which led to the confrontation.
A joint team from the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) is currently investigating the matter as well.
