Azerbaijan, a staunch Islamic country supporting Pakistan against India, is going to get a big setback. India is preparing to send a consignment of $ 720 million to its enemy country Armenia. There has been a dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia over the capture of Nagorno-Karkabakh area for nearly four decades.
According to the report of Indian Aerospace Defense News (IADN), Arnamia will buy 15 units of the most upgraded version of the Indian Air Defense System Akash-1 S. Turki’s defense experts have come into tension from this deal of India and are seeing it as a big threat to Armenia.
According to Azer News, former Turki military Athe retired Brigadier General Yusail Karoj in Azerbaijan stressed that the Akash System is technically defensive, but the purchase is not a right signal amidst criminal peace talks. He said that the sky system is definitely a defensive system and air defense systems are for air defense, but these are not aggressive weapons.
Yusail Karz said that it can cover an area of two thousand kilometers and this purchase will help Armenia to protect the country from attacks. The defense system will help to destroy them by tracking the police unit, aircraft, UAV and SIHA of another country, so this deal is defensively important for Armenia.
The Akash Defense System has been created by India’s Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO). Its firepower is up to 30 kilometers and it can track 4 targets. Recently, in the attacks on behalf of Pakistan, the Akash Defense System killed drones in the air.
What is the dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia?
Azerbaijan and Armenia used to be part of the Soviet Union. Azerbaijan and Armenia were also among the 15 countries formed after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991, but the dispute between the two started in the 1980s itself. This dispute is about Nagorno-Karbakh area.
After the breakdown of the Soviet Union, this area went to Azerbaijan. The Christian population lives here and Armenia is also a Christian -dominated country, so the people living here also voted for being a part of Armenia, while Azerbaijan is a Muslim country. However, after the breakdown of the Soviet Union, Nagorno-Karkabakh was given to Azerbaijan. Since then this dispute has been going on.
