US-Iran Relations: The nuclear agreement between Iran and the US seems to be getting closer, but in the meantime, US President Donald Trump has given a strong warning to Iran. Trump said that if Iran did not stop trying to make nuclear weapons, the US would not back down from military attacks on its nuclear bases.
Trump also alleged that Iran was deliberately delaying the agreement and claimed that Iran has now reached very close to making nuclear weapons.
US President Donald Trump said this in his statement
On Saturday, President Donald Trump spoke to the media after meeting a senior Iranian officer of US special envoy Steve Witchoff in Oman. He said, “I feel that Iran is trapping us in his trap.”
Trump clearly said, “Iran will have to give up the idea of nuclear weapons. They should not have such a weapon.” When asked if the US could take military action on Tehran’s nuclear bases, Trump replied, “Absolutely, doing so is also included in our options.”
He said that if Iran wants to avoid strict action, then it will have to take quick steps because it has reached very close to making nuclear weapons. However, Iran has been constantly claiming that it is not making nuclear weapons.
There was talk about nuclear agreement in America-Iran
On Saturday, both Iran and America said that they had positive and creative talks in Oman. Now on Saturday, there will be a second round of this conversation in Rome.
According to a report by Reuters, this conversation between Washington and Tehran is taking place to understand whether any agreement is possible. The outline of a possible agreement is also being discussed in this. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is going to visit Russia this week, where he will talk on the ongoing nuclear talks with America. Russia is a close friend of Iran and has also been a part of the 2015 nuclear deal. China has also interacted with Iran about its nuclear program in recent times.
