‘Panama Canal will capture’, US Defense Secretary meets the President of Central American country

US On Panama Canal: Ever since Donald Trump has become the President of America for the second time, his eye is on the Panama Canal. In the past, he has indicated that America wants to maintain its control over this canal.

Now in this direction, he has also taken further steps. According to a report by Reuters, US Defense Secretary PT Hegaseth reiterated Trump’s statement after the visit of Central America country Panama, saying that the US will soon take over the Panama Canal in its possession. The aim of this is that China’s growing impact on this very important waterway can be eliminated. The Panama Canal is considered one of the most important routes in the world, from where there is a large -scale trade.

US Defense Secretary met the President of Panama

For the first time after several decades, a Defense Secretary of America has visited Panama. Pete Hegseth told about his visit that he had an important meeting in a closed room with Panama President Jose Raul Mulino and also visited the Panama Canal. The US has once again expressed concern that China’s investment and participation around the Panama Canal, which connects the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, is increasing, which can be dangerous.

After talking to the Panama government, Pentagon Chief Hegseth said that the US will strengthen security cooperation between its army and Panama’s army. He also made it clear that China will not be allowed to use the canal for spying or pressure, even if it is through the business relationships of a Chinese company.

‘Panama ready to protect canal from China’s influence’

The US Defense Secretary said in Panama City that the US and Panama together will completely liberate the Panama Canal from the influence of China. He said that for the first time after 1999, a new system has been created between America and Panama, under which China’s intervention in the canal will be ended.

He clearly said that China has not made this canal nor does it operate it. Now China will not be able to use this canal in any way as pressure or weapon. The US assured that it would protect the Panama Canal with Panama.

America wants the Panama Canal again in its possession

The US Defense Secretary praised Panama President Jose Raul Mulino and said that his government understands the threat from China very well. He has said to remove the sugar effect from the canal. Donald Trump has already made it clear that he will not back down from using the army to withdraw the canal if needed. The Trump administration had also sought an option from the US Army about how to reach the canal before the Defense Secretary Hegseth’s visit to Panama.

Please tell that the Panama Canal was constructed by the US before a century, but in 1999 its complete control was handed over to the Panama government. Now Trump is again talking about taking it under the possession of America.
