
About 98% of the electrification of Indian Railways’s broad gauge network has been done and work has started on the remaining sections. This information has been given by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in Parliament. The Railway Minister said that before 2014, only 21801 km was electrified in 60 years after independence. Whereas from 2014 to February 2025, the 45922 km route has been electrified. & Nbsp;
Railway Minister informed that in addition to Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat Karnataka, Goa, Assam, 100% electrification has been completed in all other states and union territories.
Railway Minister said that electrification of railway track reduces our dependence on fossil fuel fuel. Diesel consumption is low, which also reduces carbon emissions. And electrification increases better transport capacity and train speed, which reduces travel time and also increases effigy. & Nbsp;
Stating an important data, the Railway Minister said that Indian Railways has seen a reduction of 136 crore liters in fuel consumption for traction objective compared to 2018-19.
Identification of sensitive posts of commercial department & nbsp;
Railway Board has identified some gazetted and non -gazetted posts of traffic transport and commercial departments in all 17 railway zones and has limited their tenure to three years. & nbsp; The Board said in a circular recently addressed to all the general managers of the railway zone, & lsquo; & lsquo; PCOM (Chief Commercial Operations Manager) Secretary and PCCM (Chief Principal Commercial Manager )’s nature is sensitive and the officers posted in these posts should be dedicated. & nbsp;
It states, & lsquo; & lsquo; The total tenure of such officers should be limited to three years. & Rsquo; & Rsquo; & nbsp; Board directed regular repatriation (rotation) for non -gazetted employees working as PCOM traffic inspector and PCCM’s commercial inspector (formal or informally), because such officials assist in important matters. & Nbsp;
