Special offer of Bank of Baroda for women NRIs, launched special saving account

Bank of Baroda: Public sector Bank of Baroda (BOB) has launched a special savings account for women NRIs. BOB Global Women NRE and NRO Savings account have many benefits. Such as low interest rate and processing fees on home and auto loans, complete discount on locker rent, customized debit card with free airport lounge access. Apart from this, there is also the facility of personal and air accident insurance coverage.

Speaking with ET, Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, Bina Waheed said, the bank aims to meet the changing needs of Indian women around the world. He said, Bob Global Women NRE and NRO Saving Account is designed to identify and empower the changing needs of the new age Global Indian Women.

Premium NRI, NRO Saving Account also upgraded

Apart from this special offer for women, the bank has also upgraded its bob premium NRE and NRO savings account. In this change, the transaction limit has been increased in the debit card. Free access of the airport lounge has been given, the deposit locker is free, the interest rate on the loan is also concessional. Bank of Baroda was founded by Sir Maharaja Sayajirao Gaikwad III on July 20, 1908. The number of customers of this bank spread over 17 countries is about 165 million. The new Global NRI banking segment is part of the bank’s strategy to strengthen its position.

What is NRI?

Citizens of Indian origin who are living in other countries in connection with work or studies are called Non Resident Indian or NRI. In many places, they are also called Overseas Indian. Many times people go abroad for higher studies or in search of good jobs or some training and settled there. You can also understand this in such a way that such citizens who are less than 182 days in India are called NRI. Under the India’s Foreign Exchange Management Act 1990 of the Government of India, Indians settled abroad for business, employment or education, etc. are called NRIs.
