Nepal Population: Nepal has seen a change in religious population in the last decade. Nepal, which was earlier a Hindu nation, is now a secular country. According to the 2021 census report, Hinduism is the largest religion in Nepal, but its population has been seen to have a partial decrease in the last decade. Similarly, the number of followers of Buddhism has also declined slightly, while there has been a slight increase in Muslim and Christian population.

Nepal has a major religion of Hinduism, whose population is 81.19 percent. According to the Central Bureau of Development, 2,36,77,744 people were followers of Hinduism in the 2021 census. There has also been a slight increase in the number of followers of Christianity and Kirat Dharma in Nepal in the last decade. The Christian population has increased by 0.36 per cent, while followers of Kirat Dharma have increased by 0.17 per cent. Religious figures of the last ten years in Nepal show significant changes. In the 2011 census, 81.3 per cent of Hindus in the country, 9 per cent Buddhists, 4.4 per cent Muslims, 3.1 per cent Kirat, and 0.1 per cent Christians. According to the 2021 census, the number of Hindus and Buddhists declined by 0.11 percent and 0.79 percent respectively, while the number of Muslims, Christians and followers of Kirat Dharma has increased.
