According to reports, a wholesale vegetable trader named Pintu, who hails from Gujarat, sent a Facebook friend request to a woman from the Philippines. The woman, who helps run a restaurant with her father, accepted the request.
However, since Pintu did not know English, their initial conversations were limited to simple greetings, emojis, and video calls.
Despite the language barrier, they developed a deep connection. Pintu recalls, “We couldn’t talk much, but her smile said everything.” The woman was drawn to his kind, sensitive, and honest nature.
Over time, their virtual bond grew stronger, and one day, Pintu sent her a parcel containing a heartfelt proposal. She opened it over a video call and was moved to tears.
After two years of a long-distance relationship, Pintu travelled to the Philippines to meet her family. They embraced him wholeheartedly, and eventually, the couple tied the knot in a wedding that honoured both Christian and Hindu traditions.
