Most married couples dream of starting a family. They plan their future, hoping to provide their child with the best possible life. But imagine the shock of a newlywed groom when his bride gave birth just two days after their wedding!
The sensational case from Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj District has left a family in turmoil. The wedding was celebrated with great pomp, and the newlyweds spent two days together. However, on the second day, the bride suddenly went to the hospital and gave birth to a child. While both mother and baby were safe, the family was left in tatters instead of celebration.
On February 24, the young man’s wedding procession arrived in Jasra village. The bride’s family welcomed the baraatis enthusiastically, and the wedding was conducted with grand celebrations. The bride and groom exchanged garlands, and the ceremony continued until late at night. The following day, February 25, the bride was sent off to her in-laws’ house.
As she arrived at her new home, the family rejoiced. Guests, neighbours, and relatives gathered to see the new bride, and the traditional ‘Muh dikhai’ ceremony took place throughout the day.
Sudden Turn Of Events
The next morning, on February 26, the bride woke up early and served tea to the family, maintaining the cheerful atmosphere. However, by evening, she suddenly started screaming in pain. She cried out, complaining of severe stomach pain. Alarmed, the family rushed her to Karchana CHC.
Upon examination, doctors revealed that she was pregnant and needed immediate delivery. The shocked in-laws were asked to sign medical consent forms. Within two hours, the bride gave birth to a child.
Family Uproar
The news sent shockwaves through the groom’s family. The in-laws erupted in anger, accusing the bride’s parents of hiding the pregnancy. The groom’s mother confronted the bride’s mother, demanding an explanation. In response, the bride’s parents claimed that the groom and the bride had been meeting before marriage.
The bride’s father explained that the marriage had been arranged in May last year, and since then, the couple had been in contact. However, the groom dismissed these claims as false and demanded an investigation. “My marriage was fixed only four months ago, in October. I will not accept this girl now,” he said.
The groom’s father also refused to accept the bride into the family. While he stated they did not want the money spent on the wedding, he demanded the return of all gifts and possessions exchanged during the marriage. He warned that legal action would be taken if their belongings were not returned.
The Bride’s Family Responds
Meanwhile, the bride’s mother accused the groom’s family of taking dowry and abandoning her daughter. “If they refuse to take my daughter back, we will take legal action. We will raise the child ourselves, but she is still taking the groom’s name. If he does not accept her, she will die.”
The escalating dispute led to a village panchayat (council meeting), where discussions were held. Ultimately, the bride returned to her maternal home with the child.
