Why did Bilawal Bhutto talk about military coup in Pakistan, statement caused a ruckus

Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) president Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari emphasized Pakistan’s democratic future and protecting human rights during the annual Benazir Bhutto Memorial program at the Oxford Union. He appealed to keep Pakistan free from military coup and said that the country is not entitled to another military coup.

Bilawal recalled his late mother and former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto and said that he fought for democracy and equality throughout his life. Benazir created history by becoming the first female Asian president of the Oxford Union in 1977. He considered democracy as the best revenge.

Defense of democracy and justice
Bilawal emphasized the importance of Pakistan’s democratic rule, independent judiciary, and independent journalism. He said that the people of Pakistan are demanding a better future and it is necessary to ensure that their demands are respected.

During his speech, Bilawal defended Pakistan’s nuclear program and accused Western countries of double standards. He said that Pakistan’s nuclear program is not for aggressive but for self -defense. He said, “Pakistan’s nuclear principle is not for any aggressive purpose and it fully follows international laws.”

Bilawal also discussed human rights and democratic challenges in Pakistan. He admitted that the established democracy also faces problems and the PPP has protested against the controversial laws. He also expressed his opinion on the 26th Amendment and PECA laws.
