A man from Chandigarh took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share an aggressive reminder he received from an SBI recovery agent over a small outstanding credit card payment. Rattan Dhillon called the agent’s behaviour unacceptable and demanded an apology from the bank.

He further stated that if SBI fails to address the issue, he will take legal action and close all his accounts with the bank immediately.

“Can you believe this isn’t a fraud text? Yes, it’s an official message from SBI! The audacity to send something like this is unbelievable,” wrote Dhillon while sharing a screenshot of the message he received on WhatsApp.

He added, “Upon checking, I found that I had a small credit card due of 2-3k, and the representative verified all my details—she was indeed from SBI. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable, and the bank owes me an apology. If they don’t address this, I’ll be filing a complaint against them for the language they used.”

“This is absolutely pathetic. And yes, I’m closing all my SBI accounts today itself!” Dhillon further shared.

According to the screenshot, the message from an SBI Recovery Agent Read, “Bank ka paisa free ka tha jo kha ke baith gae. Bilkul hi defaulter jaise haarkate kar rahe ho. Paisa bank ka zyada time nahi falta. Ek na ek din nikal jaega aur vo bhi lij ke sath. Vo din na aaye apna minimum amount pay kar do abhi ek month ka. (Was the bank’s money free that you just used it and sat back? . Before That Day Comes, Pay Your Minimum Amount for this month.) ”

“We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused. We have taken note of it & Our representative will connect with you soon,” wrote SBI in response to his viral social media post.
