Application for IES and ISS exam 2025 starts, know how much post has come out, how to apply


The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has sought applications for the Indian Economic Service (IES) and the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) examination 2025. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online on the official website of UPSC by March 4. The window to improve the application will open from 5 to 11 March 2025. A total of 47 posts will be filled under this recruitment process, out of which 12 posts are in Indian Economic Service (IES) and 35 posts in Indian Statistical Service (ISS).

Eligibility criteria

The candidate’s age should be between 21 to 30 years by 1 August 2025, that is, he should be born between August 2, 1995 to August 1, 2004.

Educational qualification

IES: The candidate should have a postgraduate degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, or Econometrics from a recognized university.

ISS: Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in one of the subjects of Statics, Mathematical Statics, or Applied Statics, or a master’s degree in statics.

How to apply

-Go to the official website of theupsc.

-If you are applying for the first time, then register on one-time registration (OTR) platform.

-Login and fill the online application form.

-Upload all the necessary documents and submit the application on time.

Test method

The exam will be in two parts:

-Rew 1: Written Examination (1,000 marks)

-Section 2: WIL WORE (200 points)

IES exam structure

There are a total of six subjects in the IES exam, out of which 100 marks and 3 hours have been fixed for General English and General Studies. Apart from this, there will be 200 marks and 3 hours for each of General Economics-I, General Economics-II and General Economics-III. The theme of Indian Economics is also with 200 digits and 3 hours time.

ISS Exam Structure

At the same time, 100 marks and 3 hours time is scheduled for General English and General Studies in ISS exam. Next, both Statics-I and Statics-II will be of objective type, each of which will get 200 marks and 2 hours time. Statics-III and Statics-IV will be of descriptive type, each of which will have 200 marks and 3 hours time.

Negative marking: On giving wrong answer, the negative number will be deducted in objective type examinations.

These are important guidelines

-MRR To fill the sheet, use only black ballpoint pen. The use of pencils and other colors is forbidden.

If there is any mistake in the roll number or test booklet series code on OMR sheet, then the exam can be canceled.

-Reach the center at least 30 minutes before the examination starts. Late admission will not be available.
