A Scottish couple tied the knot at the Bikaner Camel Festival 2025 in Rajasthan. While many may find it baffling why a couple from Scotland would get married with traditional Indian rituals, the Bikaner Camel Festival is a preferred marriage destination for many foreigners who want to experience Rajasthan’s royal heritage and vibrant local culture. The wedding video has caught the attention of social media users, making it go viral.
According to local reports, Jackson Hingis and Roisin from Scotland decided to celebrate their union in Rajasthan with local customs during the Bikaner Camel Festival. The viral clip shows the groom donning a soft pink sherwani with a saafa (turban) and a sword in his hand riding a decorated camel to the wedding venue at the festival. On the other hand, Roisin chose a traditional blue ghaghra choli with golden jewellery.
Further, a priest presided over the nuptials for the couple as they tied the knot. To elevate the experience, locals also joined the wedding celebration as baraatis and danced wearing Rajasthani attire. The bride and groom exchanged garlands and also participated in the joota-churai, a traditional Indian ritual where the bride’s sisters take hold of the groom’s shoes and return it after he offers them some money.
The video has received thousands of likes and hundreds of comments on social media. Many netizens congratulated the couple and expressed appreciation for the ceremony. Reacting to the video, a user said, “Indian culture is great.” Another said, “Wonderful Rajput style.” A user noted, “Foregns are adopting Indian culture while we do not pay attention to it.”
