‘Bengaluru Is In Shambles’: CEO Praises Ahmedabad’s Superior Infrastructure And Planning – News18

Bengaluru’s poor infrastructure was recently criticised by an entrepreneur, who claimed that Ahmedabad is at least 10 years ahead.

CEO claims Ahmedabad roads are far ahead of Bengaluru’s deteriorating streets.

Bengaluru often remains in the news for its poor infrastructure and yet again, the city got criticised by an entrepreneur. The CEO claimed that Ahmedabad is at least 10 years ahead. He shared that Gujarat city’s traffic signals have bright timers that help “reduces driver anxiety and make them stop with patience.” In contrast, Bengaluru’s signals are often covered in dust. The entrepreneur also added how Ahmedabad’s wide, well marked roads are far ahead of Bengaluru’s deteriorating streets. He also observed that at night, Ahmedabad looks bright, which makes people happier. On the other hand, many street lights in Bengaluru don’t work, which adds to the city’s gloomy atmosphere.

Taking to X, the CEO wrote, “Ahmedabad is at least 10 years ahead of Bengaluru in terms of road quality, footpaths, traffic management, traffic signals, etc. Bengaluru is in shambles. Here, every traffic signal has a working timer with bright lights. This alone reduces driver anxiety and makes them stop with patience. Can’t believe that such a basic thing is missing in almost all signals of Bengaluru. Bengaluru is so dusty that signal lights are not even visible.”

“Roads are so wide and lane markings are quite prominent. It’s like markings were done just yesterday. Looking at Bengaluru, I used to believe that Indian road quality is going down. After looking at Ahmedabad, I realised that it’s not India, it’s just Bengaluru. I couldn’t find any potholes on Ahmedabad roads. Moreover, the city is well lit. At night, the city looks bright and happening. It’s surprising that this can directly affect the mood of the population. People are generally happy and smiling. Whereas, Bengaluru is dark. Forget bright lights, even basic street lights don’t work. Is that why people are generally sad and angry in Bangalore?” he added.

While the CEO raised several valid points about Bengaluru’s struggling infrastructure, the post received mixed response. Some social media users agreed with his views, others argued that the city still leads in providing job opportunities and is a hub for innovation.

Reacting to the post, a user pointed out, “Even Bengaluru has wider roads and clean roads. You are comparing just one part of the road and making this statement. Both cities have good and worse roads, but Bengaluru is always ahead.”

Another shared, “Bengaluru is at least 20 years ahead of Ahmedabad in terms of providing job opportunities.”

“Ahmedabad is practically the best city to live in. World class medical, infrastructure, food, decent temp not very unpredictable. Law and order. Most of the things are sorted,” a comment read.

Another mentioned, “These comparisons are meaningless. How about the growth of Ahmedabad? Bengaluru is 25 years ahead in the Tech Ecosystem.”

One more added, “Ahmedabad might have better roads, signals, and footpaths, but Bengaluru has something even better, the tech capital of India, A global startup hub, home to some of the best minds in the world, a city that drives the future of innovation. Ahmedabad is great, no doubt. But let’s be honest, if you’re looking for career growth, investment or a world class ecosystem, you’re still flying to Bengaluru.”

Since the post was shared on X, it has garnered over one million views.
