EPFO made the profile updation process easy

EPFO Updation Process: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made some changes to make the profile updation process easier for its members. Its benefit will be available to 3.9 lakh members who have already submitted their request for profile update. Under the new change, you will now be able to cancel your request, edit your profile and resubmit.

Now you can edit it yourself without any document

Under this new update, EPFO members will be able to edit any of their personal information like name, date of birth, nationality, parents’ names, marital status without submitting any documents. Only UANs issued before October 1, 2017 may require employer certification to update them.

There will be no need for verification from the employer

Earlier, any change in the account required verification from the employer, which took 28 days. Under the new change, now 45 percent of the requests will be approved automatically, the remaining 50 percent will require the approval of the employer. However, to edit the profile, it is necessary that your Aadhaar and PAN are linked to the EPF account. If there is any discrepancy in this, the approval may be delayed. With this, it is now very easy to delete any wrong ID associated with your UAN. EPFO gave this information in a circular issued on January 17, 2025.

Edit your profile in this way

  • To update the profile, first go to the portal https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/.
  • Login by entering your UAN, password and captcha.
  • Now go to the top menu and click on the ‘Manage’ tab.
  • Select the section you want to edit.
  • After this, fill the remaining details as per the information given in your Aadhaar.
  • If required, submit supporting documents like Aadhar Card, PAN Card or Birth Certificate for verification.
