Israel-Hamas Ceasefire : After the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, the problems of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu seem to be increasing. In fact, many ministers of the Netanyahu government are unhappy with the ceasefire agreement with Hamas and they are openly protesting against this agreement. Even many ministers have also tendered their resignation from the government. This ceasefire agreement may affect Netanyahu’s throne.
Leaders resigned, alliance party withdrew support
It is noteworthy that Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has resigned from Netanyahu’s cabinet in protest against the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and the Israeli government. Apart from this, two other ministers of Ben-Gvir’s nationalist-religious party Otzma Yehudit have also resigned. At the same time, the Otzma Yehudit party has also withdrawn its support from Netanyahu’s coalition government.
After these resignations, tension has increased on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s coalition government and if other ministers withdraw their support from the government in the same manner, then Netanyahu’s power will be in danger.
Otzma Yehudit party criticized the agreement
Let us tell you that the Otzma Yehudit party criticized the ceasefire agreement as surrender to Hamas. The party has termed it as the release of hundreds of murderers. The party claimed that this reduced the achievements of the Israeli army in Gaza. However, even after the resignation of the National Security Minister, Netanyahu still has majority in the Israeli Parliament. At the same time, after withdrawing support from the ruling coalition, the Otzma Yehuti party said that it will not try to topple Netanyahu’s government.
Problems may increase for Netanyahu government
The resignation of Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir from the cabinet has weakened Netanyahu’s coalition government. However, Netanyahu’s party still remains with a slight majority in the Israeli Parliament. But if other right-wing MPs also withdraw their support from the government, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government may lose its majority in Parliament.
