On the entry of Pakistan Army in Bangladesh, Mohammad Yunus government has said such a thing, which may shock Pakistan PM Shahbaz Sharif. He has said that the government has no plans to allow Pakistan Army to operate in Bangladesh. He has also denied the talk of increasing closeness with Pakistan. Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to Bangladesh’s Chief Advisor Mohammad Yunus, said that the government wants to improve relations with all SAARC countries and the government is also working for it.
SAARC is a group of eight countries, whose full name is South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. Its member countries are Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. In an interview with CNN-News 18, Shafiqul Alam said that Mohammad Yunus wants to build good relations with all SAARC countries, which also includes Pakistan. Under this, Bangladesh is improving relations, but Yunus government has no plans to allow Pakistani Army to work in Bangladesh.
Shafikul Alam also informed that the passport of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been cancelled. Sheikh Hasina left the post of PM and came to India after the coup in August last year. He has been here since then. When Shafikul Alam was asked questions about this, he said that Yunus government has made clear to India its desire to extradite Sheikh Hasina. He said that the government hopes that India will respond to this.
Shafiqul Alam said that Sheikh Hasina is wanted in many cases like murder and forced disappearance of people. Apart from this, he is also accused of corruption. He alleged that Sheikh Hasina’s tenure was known for human rights violations and killings. He said that Sheikh Hasina was only engaged in promoting her father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Apart from Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, there were many people who contributed for the country, but Hasina got her father’s portraits made everywhere.
Shafikul Alam was asked whether Mujibur Rahman will no longer be known as the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh and whether history books will also be rewritten, to which he did not answer. He said, ‘We have said that he was also among the founding leaders of Bangladesh.’
