Canadian MPs got angry at Khalistani terrorists and said – why don’t they take them seriously…

The issue of Khalistani terrorists was debated in the Parliament of Canada on Wednesday (October 23, 2024). An MP raised the issue and said that law agencies should take this matter seriously. He said this is a Canadian problem. Chandra Arya, a prominent Canadian MP of Indian origin, said Khalistani violent extremism is a Canadian problem and the country’s law enforcement agencies should take the issue seriously.

Chandra Arya is the MP from Nepean. He made this comment while addressing the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Chandra Arya said, ‘Khalistani violent extremism is a problem in Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has said that the national task force is focusing on its investigation.’ He said that everyone knows that extremism and terrorism are not limited to national boundaries.

He said, ‘I urge our law enforcement agencies to take this issue with utmost seriousness.’ Sharing his experience, Chandra Arya said that two weeks ago when he was attending a Hindu event in Edmonton, a group of Khalistani protesters staged a violent protest against him.

Chandra Arya said that he was able to participate in the program because of the security arrangements of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). ‘In Canada, we have long recognized and experienced the serious problem of Khalistani extremism,’ he said. He said, ‘Let me make it clear that violation of Canadian sovereignty and foreign interference in Canada in any form is unacceptable.’

Chandra Arya has raised this issue at a time when relations between India and Canada have deteriorated significantly on the issue of Khalistani terrorists. Due to this, both the countries have sent back each other’s ambassadors. In September last year, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had alleged the possible involvement of Indian agents in the murder of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in British Columbia. After this, relations between India and Canada became very tense. India had rejected Trudeau’s allegations.
