Yoon Suk-yeol faces arrest threat

After the impeachment, the investigation into the old policies and decisions of President Yoon Suk-yeol has intensified. There is talk in South Korea that he may be arrested. According to the Korea Times report, after the suspension, Yoon is being investigated on charges of treason and betrayal.

The investigators are focusing on who should be held responsible for the political crisis that arose in the country due to his decisions. Yun’s sudden decision to declare martial law made the situation more serious.

Controversy over martial law and allegations of treason

President Yoon has been accused of treason in the impeachment motion of the National Assembly. The allegation focuses on his part in imposing martial law without any constitutional basis earlier this month. MPs have called it an illegal and unorganized move.

Legal experts divide treason into three parts. First, those who plan and direct it. Second, those who carry it out. And thirdly, those who participate in it without playing any role. Yoon is accused of being the main conspirator of this controversial decision.
