Plane Crash: A major plane accident occurred on Sunday (29 December 2024) at Muan International Airport in South Korea, in which 179 people died. The accident occurred at 9:07 a.m. when the Jeju Air plane skidded off the runway during landing and crashed into a fence wall at Muan International Airport, Yonhap news agency reported. A total of 181 people, including six crew members, were on board the plane returning from Bangkok. In this plane, two passengers were from Thailand and the rest were from South Korea. Officials suspect that a landing gear malfunction may have been caused by a bird strike, which could have caused the accident. The President of South Korea had also called an emergency meeting of high officials regarding this.
Emergency landing of flight in Canada
Earlier on Saturday night, an Air Canada plane had to make an emergency landing at Halifax Airport. PAL Airlines flight AC2259 narrowly escaped a crash on Saturday night. According to the report of Hindustan Times, all the passengers on board the flight were taken out safely. There was a technical fault in a plane and a fire broke out in the flight after the plane made an emergency landing. Even a slight delay in landing could have caused a major accident.
Plane skids on runway in Norway
A KLM Royal Dutch Airlines plane slipped during emergency landing at Oslo Torp Sandefiord Airport in Norway late on Saturday night. There was a malfunction in the hydrogen system of the Boeing 737-800 aircraft going from Oslo Airport to Amsterdam. After this it was decided to land the plane at Sandefiord Airport, 110 km south of Oslo. Despite a safe landing, the plane skidded off the runway and stopped in a nearby grassy area. There were a total of 182 people on board this plane.
